SOLAS™ Auto-Login System
As more people use the Internet for remote access to financial networks, corporate and e-commerce sites, there are associated risks - and liability issues - for all parties. Traditional identity verification methods of usernames and simple passwords are susceptible to password guessing programs, spyware and Trojan horse viruses that download keystroke logging programs. A fingerprint offers a reliable and inexpensive means of authenticating an individual's identity - one far more secure than personal identification numbers (PINs) or passwords. By linking the user directly to the transaction process through their fingerprint, the user’s identity is confirmed beyond repudiation - the user is authorized and indeed present.

The BAI system combines convenience and security into a plug-n-play solution suitable for hosted/network applications, databases and website access where strong authentication is needed. It integrates biometric and cryptographic technologies into a convenient automatic login to the user’s applications from any Windows® PC - without the need to remember passwords.

System Components – SOLAS™ Biometric Thumb Drive
The SOLAS™ Thumb Drive is a self-contained biometric authentication sub-system embedded within a standard USB fingerprint thumb drive. During the enrollment process, the user’s fingerprints are scanned and stored in the protected memory of the thumb drive. A unique cryptographic key is generated by the BAI Authentication Server and stored on the thumb drive along with the Server's IP address. The thumb drive is then "locked" and ready for use. No client software or passwords are required - the user simply plugs the SOLAS™ Thumb Drive into any Windows® computer, scans a finger and is automatically connected to the client application by the BAI Authentication Server. The user’s fingerprints are not transmitted or exposed at anytime, further protecting individual privacy. |
