Biometric Associates, LP is a unique developer, manufacturer, and integrator of authentication and identity systems that have been specifically designed to provide a high level of security and privacy protection. BAL systems, including related cryptographic, PKI and RFID implementations, provide assured user confirmation. They can be integrated into Bluetooth smart card readers, RFID Contactless cards, biometric USB thumb drives, Internet authentication servers and electronic monitoring systems, as well as other logical and physical access control applications.

BAL technical staffs are experienced wireless communications protocol specialists, application programmers, electrical engineers, and cryptography experts. The Company has offices in Maine and in the Washington, DC area.

Co-Founder, President, CEO, and Chief Technologist
Mr. Kozlay founded and was president and principal product development officer at SafeNet, Inc. (NASDQ Symbol SFNT), a leading provider of encryption and virtual private network (VPN) solutions for secure communications. He began his career as a cryptographic engineer at the National Security Agency. He has served as co-chair of important American National Standards Institute (ANSI) sub-committees dealing with digital signatures and other financial institution security standards.

Scott T. Johnson
Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Director
Mr. Johnson of Bangor, Maine joined BAL in November 2009 bringing a wealth of business and financial experience to the company. He is sole owner and principal of Johnson Management Group, LLC, a diversified consulting firm established in 1992 providing a broad range of services to New England industry with concentrations in energy management and commodity procurement services, commercial banking, textiles, retirement communities and agriculture. He has specialized in commercial and industrial loan and lease placement, venture capital acquisition and real estate development. The company is also involved in project financing, corporate finance and management, creditor relations and management restructuring.

In addition to his other consulting activities from 1998 to 2009, Mr. Johnson was Business Development Consultant for Competitive Energy Services, a comprehensive energy management company serving educational and medical institutions, businesses and industry from Maine to Texas. He was the principal developer and a partner in Dirigo Pines, a $37 million comprehensive retirement community development in Orono, ME. Prior to that, he served as Chairman and CEO of Eastland Woolen Mills, Inc. of New York City and Corinna, Maine, His experience in banking includes two years as Executive Vice President, COO and member of the board of Union Trust Company and Union Bankshares in Ellsworth, Maine, as well as over twenty years in business development and commercial lending with Fleet bank of Maine (formerly The Merrill Trust Company) and Northeast Bank and Trust of Bangor, Maine.

Mr. Johnson matriculated at the University of Maine in Orono, majoring in business and finance, and serves as a director/trustee on several other non-profit and civic boards.

Before joining BAL, Mr. Smith held sales, marketing and product management responsibilities at several venture-funded start-ups including Channel Intelligence, Scalent Systems, TeleComputing, Inc. and V-One, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University Rhode Island.
